Tanium, the company that has redefined security and systems management, today announced the appointment of two key hires that will strengthen the executive bench and support the company through its next stages of hyper-growth. In newly created positions, Chad Fulgham, the former CIO of the FBI, joins Tanium as the company’s Chief Strategy Officer and Jennifer Johnson, recently a partner at the leading venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, has joined Tanium as Chief Marketing Officer.
“They share our vision and commitment to make Tanium the new standard for security and systems management in every enterprise and government organization around the globe.”
Many of the world’s largest organizations across a variety of industries – from financial services to government to retail and beyond – rely on Tanium to secure, control and manage their enterprise IT assets. For the first time ever, these organizations now have complete, accurate and real time information on the state of their endpoints to more effectively protect against modern day threats and realize new levels of cost efficiency in IT operations.
Tanium has experienced unprecedented growth in the market, grounded in the power of its patented communications architecture. This enables security and IT teams to query and gather data from hundreds of thousands of endpoints across the enterprise and execute change as needed, all within seconds. The speed, scale and simplicity of the Tanium platform is revolutionizing the way organizations manage endpoints, empowering them with real-time insight not possible with existing legacy tools.
“As Tanium continues through its next phases of hyper-growth, Chad and Jennifer bring the expertise needed to help drive the company forward,” said Orion Hindawi, co-founder and CTO of Tanium. “They share our vision and commitment to make Tanium the new standard for security and systems management in every enterprise and government organization around the globe.”
As Chief Strategy Officer, Chad Fulgham will advance Tanium’s corporate strategy and continue to strengthen relationships between Tanium and its enterprise and government customers. Prior to joining Tanium, Fulgham served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where he led an enterprise scale technology modernization program that earned recognition as Information Week’s “Government CIO Top 50” and CIO Leadership Network’s “Top 10 Breakaway Leaders.” He has also held senior leadership positions in information technology, security and risk assessment for Lockheed Martin, Lehman Brothers, IBM, JP Morgan Chase, Arthur Andersen and the US Navy. In addition, Fulgham serves on the Board of Directors of PerCredo, LLC, which he co-founded.
“I know first-hand what it is like to be in the shoes of today’s CIOs and Chief Information Security Officers (CISO),” said Fulgham. “Enterprises and government organizations everywhere are struggling with disparate tools, out-of-date technology and prohibitively old data. With this lack of visibility, CIOs and CISOs are like pilots trying to fly a plane with days-old flight data. Tanium has the technology and the DNA to make sweeping changes in how global enterprises rethink their approach to security and systems management to reduce the business risk of security threats and reduce operational costs within the IT organization.”
As Chief Marketing Officer, Jennifer Johnson will be responsible for the global strategy and execution of all facets of marketing, leading the communications, demand generation and product marketing functions at Tanium. Previously, Johnson was a Partner at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, where she worked closely with its enterprise portfolio companies on go-to-market strategy. Prior to Andreessen Horowitz, Johnson was Chief Marketing Officer at Coverity, a Synopsys company, where she was instrumental in accelerating the company’s growth, expanding into new markets and building the development testing category. Prior to Coverity, Johnson held marketing roles at HP, Mercury Interactive, Symantec and Veritas Software.
Fulgham and Johnson join existing executive team members Eric Brown, CFO and COO of Tanium, and Mike Carpenter, President of Global Sales. Brown has 15 years of public company CFO experience, and prior to joining Tanium was the CFO and COO of Polycom, a multinational corporation that develops video, voice and content collaboration and communication technology. Carpenter was previously President of Americas Sales at McAfee. At Tanium, Carpenter leads global field operations and channel development.
