Tanium Welcomes New Chief Sales Officer

Thomas Stanley joins Tanium from NetApp to fuel next stage of growth

Emeryville, Calif., August 14, 2019 – Tanium, the proven platform for endpoint visibility and control, today announced the appointment of Thomas Stanley as Chief Sales Officer. Stanley will oversee the company’s global sales organization, which includes field sales, field operations, channel and alliances.

In his new role as Chief Sales Officer for Tanium, which begins on September 9th, Stanley will be directly responsible for accelerating the company’s continued growth across the U.S and international markets.

Stanley is a 30-year technology industry veteran with a strong leadership background in both the private and public sectors. He joins Tanium from NetApp, where he was Senior Vice President and General Manager, Americas, responsible for direct and indirect sales, engineering, professional services, business development, finance, operations, and marketing across North America, South America, and U.S. Public Sector.

Discussing the new appointment, Fazal Merchant, Co-CEO, Tanium said: “Thomas is a fantastic addition to Tanium. During his time at NetApp, he helped grow annual revenue significantly and brings a wealth of experience that will be invaluable in fueling the next stage of our growth. Thomas will help us build a global sales strategy to demonstrate how Tanium can support the world’s largest enterprises and government organizations to have instantaneous visibility and control over all their endpoints. We are delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Prior to NetApp, Stanley held various leadership roles at SGI and IBM and has been recognized externally as one of CRN’s most influential channel chiefs. Stanley is a passionate advocate for education, science and technology, youth advancement, leadership development, and inclusion and diversity. He serves on the boards of the Omega Uplift Foundation, Boys Hope Girls Hope International organization, and the Board of Visitors at North Carolina A&T State University.

“I am excited by the opportunity to work with a team that is truly reinventing the way organizations manage and secure their computing devices,” commented Thomas Stanley. “Without enterprise-wide visibility of computing devices and infrastructure data in real-time, IT and security leaders will struggle to both keep complex systems running smoothly and appropriately assess risk.” “Tanium has achieved tremendous success in the market through its heritage as the proven platform for endpoint visibility and control and is trusted by the world’s largest enterprise and government organizations. I look forward to bringing my enterprise sales and expertise to Tanium as we continue to capture the large global market opportunity,” added Stanley.

Stanley’s appointment follows a series of notable executive hires that Tanium has made this year, including VP of Global Alliances and Channel, Tom Herrmann and Armando Dacal, VP of Australia and New Zealand. Tanium also reached over 1,000 team members this year and was recognized for its strong culture by FORTUNE and UK Best Workplaces.
