A breakdown of the $150 billion fund & how it can be used for technology.
What is the Coronavirus Relief Fund?
Nested inside the $2.2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act is the Coronavirus Relief Fund that provided $150 billion for necessary and reasonable expenditures incurred due to COVID-19.
State and local governments have an opportunity to remedy these concerns through the $150 billion Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF). This newly created funding stream — part of the CARES Act — may be used to help IT organizations cover a broad range of technology-related expenses for costs incurred due to COVID-19. IT leaders and IT departments may be able to leverage these funds for technology to improve their readiness during the pandemic, including for initiatives around:
- Endpoint Security
- Telework/remote work
- Secured patching
- Compliance
- Cost optimization
