David Hindawi


David Hindawi, an accomplished entrepreneur and inventor, co-founded Tanium in 2007 and serves as its Executive Chairman. Prior to Tanium, David founded BigFix, Inc., an enterprise systems management solution that was acquired by IBM in 2010. Prior to BigFix, David was Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Software Ventures, a leader in telecommunications software, which he led up to its acquisition. David holds a number of software patents in the areas of network communications and systems management, has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Industrial and Management Engineering from the Technion, and has a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley.

Orion Hindawi


Orion Hindawi co-founded Tanium in 2007 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Orion leads product strategy and development of the Tanium Platform, in addition to all customer-facing technical operations and management functions. A technology visionary and accomplished inventor, Orion has led the development of enterprise-scale endpoint security and management platforms for the past 18 years at BigFix, Inc. (acquired by IBM in 2010) and Tanium, in addition to holding multiple software patents in the areas of network communications and systems management. Orion works closely with Tanium customers on a daily basis in the pursuit of inventing new approaches for solving the significant challenges IT departments face securing and managing large, global enterprise environments. Orion also serves on the Tanium Board of Directors.

Chris Bream

Chief Technology Officer

Chris Bream brings experience in both cybersecurity and IT operations to his role as CTO at Tanium. He holds a track record helping high-growth organizations scale, and has led teams comprising some of the best technical talent in the world. Prior to joining Tanium in 2017, Chris served as a security director at Facebook, where he led teams helping to drive security in the products and infrastructure that deliver Facebook, Instagram, and Oculus to people around the globe. Before joining Facebook, Chris was a director at Mandiant, where he led incident response teams and the managed service group. Chris also served as a manager in PwC’s Washington Federal Practice, focused on information security for the US Federal government. He holds a bachelor’s in computer science from Virginia Tech and began his career in local government as a systems engineer for Montgomery County in Virginia.

Bina Chaurasia

Chief People Officer

In her role as Chief People Officer, Bina Chaurasia is responsible for leading the company’s vision and strategy around our people, and developing and implementing all people enablement initiatives in support of our overall strategic direction, including, amongst other things, recruiting and talent management. Bina was most recently SVP and Chief HR Officer at Ericsson, where she was instrumental in building a global human resource function and developing and implementing the people strategy to support the business transformation. Bina has deep expertise in human resources, working across diverse sectors with companies including Hewlett Packard, Gap, Inc., Sun Microsystems, and PepsiCo/Yum!. Bina holds a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a Masters in Management & Human Resources from Ohio State University.

David Damato

Chief Security Officer

David Damato is Chief Security Officer at Tanium. As Chief Security Officer, David provides strategic product direction over module development for the Tanium Platform and manages the company’s internal security program. David brings a wealth of security expertise to Tanium, spanning incident response and forensics, vulnerability assessments, security program development, security operations, and network and security architecture. Prior to Tanium, David most recently served as Managing Director at Mandiant, a FireEye company, where his team led incident response and post-breach remediation efforts at over 100 Fortune 500 companies. At Mandiant, David was also instrumental in developing new incident response services capabilities and establishing consulting offices both domestically and internationally. Prior to Mandiant, David led security consulting teams at PwC as part of its Washington Federal Practice and held IT roles at Raytheon focused on the management of internal and government networks. David frequently shares his expertise and insights at industry events and with the media.

Anirma Gupta

General Counsel

Anirma Gupta is General Counsel at Tanium where she leads all aspects of Tanium’s legal initiatives, including advising on company strategy and implementation. Anirma brings a wealth of legal and business partnership expertise to Tanium. Prior to Tanium, Anirma was Vice President, Deputy General Counsel at Intuit Inc. where she was responsible for intellectual property, marketing, strategic transactions, regulated product offerings and advising on technology strategy and partnerships. Prior to Intuit, Anirma was at Sun Microsystems where she led strategic patent portfolio development. Prior to Sun Microsystems, Anirma was an associate with the intellectual property law firm, Sughrue Mion, where she dealt with a broad range of IP issues. Anirma has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, from the University of Maryland and earned her JD from Georgetown. Anirma is also a board member of ChIPs, a non-profit dedicated to the advancement, development and retention of women in technology, law and intellectual property.

Ryan Kazanciyan

Chief Security Architect

In his role as Chief Security Architect, Ryan Kazanciyan brings more than 14 years of experience in incident response, forensic analysis, and penetration testing. Ryan oversees the design and roadmap for Tanium’s Threat Response offerings, and leads the Tanium Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) team. Prior to joining Tanium, Ryan oversaw investigation and remediation efforts at Mandiant, partnering with dozens of Fortune 500 organizations affected by targeted attacks. Ryan has trained hundreds of incident responders as an instructor for Black Hat and the FBI’s cyber squad. He is a contributing author for “Incident Response and Computer Forensics 3rd Edition” (McGraw-Hill, 2014). Ryan also works as a technical consultant for the television series “Mr. Robot,” where he collaborates with the writers and production team to design the hacks depicted in the show.

Fazal Merchant


Fazal Merchant joined Tanium as COO & CFO in May 2017. He was most recently CFO of DreamWorks Animation SKG, leading up to the company’s sale to Comcast. Prior to DreamWorks, Fazal held executive leadership roles at DIRECTV, the Royal Bank of Scotland, and Barclays Capital. Fazal began his career at Ford Motor Company, where he served in various treasury and finance management positions across functions in the U.S. and Europe. Fazal is a member of the Board of Directors of Ryman Hospitality Properties and holds a Degree in Finance from the University of Texas and an MBA from Indiana University.

Charles Ross

Chief Customer Officer

As Chief Customer Officer, Charles Ross leads the team responsible for delivering the Tanium vision to our customers: scalable endpoint management to operate and secure their business reliably and quickly. Prior to Tanium, Charles worked at McAfee, where he held a variety of leadership roles in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, and IT security. Prior to McAfee, Charles worked as an Enterprise Risk Consultant for Deloitte & Touche. Charles holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida.

Mark Wayland

Chief Revenue Officer

In his role as Chief Revenue Officer, Mark is responsible for leading all of Tanium’s go-to-market teams, including Sales, Marketing, Channels, and Alliances. Mark joined Tanium after 10 years at Salesforce, where he was most recently Senior Vice President, Commercial Sales. During this period, Salesforce grew from $450 million to more than $9 billion in revenue. Prior to Salesforce, Mark held technology sales and sales management roles for firms including Gartner, Scient, and Nortel. Mark holds a B.A from San Diego State University. He lives in Oakland, California, with his wife and three children.
