FAQs

How do I register to take a Tanium Certification Exam?

Start with Candidate Login to create your profile in the Tanium Certifications portal. After you have created your profile and verified your account, you will be able to SSO over to Pearson VUE and schedule your exam. Even if you have a Pearson VUE account, from previous certification programs you have engaged in, you will need to become a part of the Tanium Certifications community through our portal to participate. You can find out more about the Tanium Certification portal in our Candidate Handbook under “General Information.”

Can I retake the exam?

Our retake policy can be found here and is enforced without exception.

How do I know what is on the exam and how do I prepare?

Refer to the exam guide for additional details. While the recommended courses focus on many of the areas tested in the exam, they do not cover all the test materials. Detailed information can be found in our Candidate Handbook under “Exam Prep.” Hands-on experience is the best preparation for any exam.

I passed my certification exam. When can I expect my digital badge?

A notification email will be sent directly from Credly, our digital badging partner, with information on how to claim your digital badge and start sharing your achievement online.

For how long is my certification valid?

Each certification will be valid for two years. Individuals will either have to re-test or pass a higher-level exam to receive recertification.

What should I do if I experience technical issues during an exam?

If you experience a technical issue with functionality during the exam, please report it to the exam proctor immediately. Ask for a Pearson VUE VSS support ticket to be created. If no VSS support ticket is created, Tanium will not be able to review or confirm any issues experienced. Issues reported after the exam cannot be validated.

How can I submit feedback about an exam question or exam experience?

Please review the Feedback form for additional details on addressing any of the following items:
Exam Challenge
if you have a concern about the technical accuracy of a particular exam item.

If you suspect the integrity of an exam has been compromised.
