Supplemental Privacy Notice for California Residents

In addition to our general Privacy Policy, if you are a California resident and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), applies to you, this Supplemental California Privacy Notice applies to our processing of personal information that is subject to the CCPA. The CCPA provides California residents with rights regarding their personal information, including the right to know what categories of personal information we have collected about them, the right to delete their personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information, and the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, among others.

“Sales” and “Sharing” of Personal Information under the CCPA
Under the CCPA, the information that Tanium discloses to third parties for analytics purposes and to better target advertisements to you may be considered “sales” or “sharing” as those terms are defined in the CCPA. In the last 12 months, we have “sold” or “shared” personal information as described below:

We do not have actual knowledge that We “sell” or “share” the personal information of children under 16 years of age.

User-enabled privacy controls: We will consider your user-enabled privacy controls, such as a browser plugin or privacy setting or other mechanism, to signal your choice to opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. When using these privacy controls to opt-out of “sales” or “sharing,” your request will be linked to your browser identifier only and not linked to any account information because the connection between your browser and the account is not known to us. Additional Privacy Rights for California Residents
Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected it, the business or commercial purposes for which we collected it, and the categories of third parties with whom we disclosed, sold, or shared it.
Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law.
Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, as described in the “Sales and Sharing” section above.
Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information: To the extent we collect sensitive personal information, you may direct us to limit its use and disclosure to what is necessary to perform the services or provide the goods you requested, as permitted by the CCPA.
Sensitive Personal Information: We do not use sensitive personal information other than as explicitly permitted by the CCPA.
Non-Discrimination: California residents have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of their rights under the CCPA. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not: (a) deny you goods or services; (b) charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties; (c) provide you a different level or quality of goods or services; or (d) suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services because you exercised your rights under the CCPA.
Authorized Agent: Only You, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child. To designate an authorized agent, please contact us as set forth under the “Contacting Us” heading of our Privacy Policy and provide written authorization signed by you and your designated agent.
Verification: To protect Your privacy, we will take the following steps to verify your identity before fulfilling Your requests to exercise certain rights under the CCPA. When You make a request, we will ask you to provide sufficient information that allows Us to reasonably verify You are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
