Kristina Ayanian: Coming to you from RSA, I’m Kristina Ayanian from Nasdaq, and joining me is CEO of Tanium, Dan Streetman. Dan, great to see you again. Thank you so much for joining.

Dan Streetman: Kristina, great to be here with you. Really appreciate the opportunity, coming to you live from RSA, it’s a lot of fun.

Kristina Ayanian: Very excited to have you. And so excited for our conversation. Now, Tanium has had impressive growth over the past year. What do you attribute to your success?

Dan Streetman: Well, I’m really excited that, you know, since last year, we did a couple of really, really impressive things. First and foremost, we launched a general availability of Autonomous Endpoint Management. And that’s really changing the dynamic of how organizations think about endpoint management. Bringing together, you know, IT operations and security like we always have, but in a way now where they’re getting a confidence score about changes. Our growth continues. We’re working at organizations around the world, continue to travel to see our customers every day. And it’s great to be here at RSA where we see so many of them.

Kristina Ayanian: That’s amazing. So, Tanium customers are some of the most security-conscious organizations in the world. What are they focused on?

Dan Streetman: Yeah, so it’s a great point. And you know, not only security conscious, they’re also innovative. They’re focused on doing more with less. They recognize that threats are continuing to increase. Look, if we just look at some of the most recent reports, cyber-attacks are up over 40% year over year. We all know that here at RSA. We also know none of our budgets are going up 40% year over year. So those organizations are being innovative of how they think about managing their attack surface, how they’re managing their endpoints, and being very smart about how they apply their resources to be careful in this, you know, dynamic world. We work with MODs and DODs around the world. I mean, all branches of the US military, some of the largest retailers around the world, the largest banks. But we also support hospitals and school systems. Our job is to deliver the power of certainty to our customers. So, they’re focused on making sure they know what’s in their state, that it’s properly patched, it’s cared for, it’s managed, and when something goes wrong, they can address that. And that’s what Tanium Autonomous Endpoint Management is all about.

Kristina Ayanian: It really sounds like you have a mission-driven approach.

Dan Streetman: Absolutely, look, I loved serving in the US military before I came into the world of enterprise software. I first became a Tanium customer when I was running a software company beforehand. And my CIO showed me all the things that we were able to understand about our environment, that visibility with Tanium, and I became a believer. When I got to speak to the founders at Tanium and had the opportunity to become the CEO, I love our mission. We deliver the power of certainty, we focus on our customers, we do the right thing, and we recognize that when we do it well, we win as a team. And that’s exciting to me.

Kristina Ayanian: That’s amazing. It seems like your internal culture reflects externally with your clients.

Dan Streetman: Look, it resonates with me, who I am as a person, and it certainly resonates with our clients. You know, our NPS scores, our CSAT scores, are really world-class. It was one of the great surprises for me as I had a chance to take over a few years ago now, and we want to continue that and stay very close to what we’re hearing from our customers. In fact, Autonomous Endpoint Management really was what we heard from them. This idea that I want to be able to address everything that’s in my environment and make changes at speed and scale faster than any other solution. So fortunately, our founders have great foundational technology, and what we have done is continued to invest in that and deliver, I think, a platform that, you know, stands apart.

Kristina Ayanian: That’s amazing, and you’re constantly growing. We’re living in the age of AI. So how are you using AI to help your customers make informed decisions?

Dan Streetman: Absolutely. So, you know, Autonomous Endpoint Management simply is the best way to think about how AI is helping organizations manage their endpoints. The best way to think about this is, lots and lots of research goes into building, let’s say a large language model or a decision-making model. But the most important thing that model has to have is the prompts, the insights that what’s happening right now, right? An easy example would be if I’m using a car that has the, you know, lane change helper, it’s going to evaluate cars next to me. It’s going to evaluate their speed, my speed, and say, yeah, it’s safe to change lanes. Well, what if that information is five minutes old or it’s forecasted, it’s not going to work. So real-time data is critically important to any organization leveraging AI. So, it’s fundamental to what we do in Autonomous Endpoint Management. It’s also fundamental to our partnerships with organizations like Microsoft. We work very closely with the security Copilot team, with the ServiceNow assist team, what we’re delivering for them and those alliances also enable organizations to leverage the promise of AI, because I can guarantee you, unfortunately, bad actors are also leveraging AI, and we have to stay ahead of them.

Kristina Ayanian: Your autonomous capabilities are a real differentiator. What makes you unique?

Dan Streetman: So, look, this is a great, great question. And Gartner released what they call, you know, the market study, the market guide for endpoint management. And they talk about the capabilities of Autonomous Endpoint Management, which is bringing together the view of obviously what my vulnerabilities and my alerts are, also bringing in information around what the operational impact of those changes is and then creating playbooks that help me to iterate faster and faster. So that’s critical to organizations to be able to make decisions in real time. And that’s how we differentiate. Gartner said in that report that more than 50% of organizations would adopt Autonomous Endpoint Management, AEM by 2029. And they did say that in the same report, only Tanium delivers on that capability. So we’re pretty excited about it. We’re the first, we’re the only. There’s plenty of folks who are now talking about it. That’s great. We have invested in the foundational capabilities we’re delivering to the customers now.

Kristina Ayanian: That’s amazing. Congratulations.

Dan Streetman: Yeah, it’s fun, it’s really a blast.

Kristina Ayanian: Looking into the future, what’s on the horizon for 2025 and beyond?

Dan Streetman: So, we are going to continue to deliver on the promise of AEM. We’ve got a majority of our customers now using Tanium Automation. We’re very pleased about that. We’re going to continue to build on our alliances with important partners like Microsoft, ServiceNow and others. And we’re having more and more organizations who support and are part of the ecosystem come to us because they recognize the power of the real-time data and that certainty that Tanium provides. So, we look to continue to grow that ecosystem. I believe that, again, going back to, you know, those days when I used to serve, my very first assignment was, as you know, in Italy in a group called the Allied Mobile Force. We worked with allied countries around the world. I learned to jump with the French and the Spanish and the Germans, and it was hard. You have to learn different things. But if you invest in building that alliance, in that joint solution, if you will, you’re far more powerful together. And I think that’s the future for us and what we’re hearing from the ecosystem.

Kristina Ayanian: That’s amazing. Well, Dan, thank you for your service. Thank you for everything you’re doing for the cyber world. It was great to see you, and we’re looking forward to continuing to follow.

Dan Streetman: Well, thanks very much. Look, on behalf of all those who continue to serve and have done so much more, I really appreciate that sentiment, and I do really appreciate everything that service people around the world do for us. But I love the fact that here at RSA, we’re focused on doing the exact same thing and being mission focused. So, thanks a lot for your time.

Kristina Ayanian: That’s amazing.

Dan Streetman: Thank you.
