It’s a Wrap: Looking Back on Tanium’s Sixth Annual Month of Giving

Our Culture

For Tanium, September was a month of walking and running, building educational STEM kits, dishing out delicious barbecue, helping local EMTs, and more.

These are just some of the activities Tanium team members participated in as part of the company’s sixth annual Month of Giving, a special opportunity Tanium offers team members for supporting local communities, helping those in need, and exemplifying Tanium’s core values of winning as a team, doing the right thing, and being unstoppable.

This year’s Month of Giving featured four weeks of activities for Tanium team members around the world. This year almost 400 team members — about one-fifth of the company — participated in the Month of Giving, nearly twice as many as the year before. Cumulatively these team members helped over 80 organizations, including organizations helped through individual efforts.

In Week 1, over 100 team members participated in the company’s Walk My Workday and its Peloton Ride/Run/Row Challenge, logging over 500 miles cumulatively. Through these events, team members raised their heart rates as well as funds for specific charities.

In Week 2, team members in Tanium offices rolled up their sleeves and got down to work building and packing things. Tanium team members assembled over 700 wash and sleep kits, greeting cards, and signs for good causes around the world. Team members also helped build a tribute wall for the American Red Cross.

In Week 3, Tanium’s charitable work went virtual. Working with materials provided by employee-engagement company Generus, Tanium team members working remotely assembled over 100 STEM education kits.

In Week 4, Tanium volunteers around the world pitched in on a wide range of local charity projects. In locations as varied as Stockholm, Singapore, Paris, Boston, and St. Louis, Tanium volunteers contributed to projects such as:

  • Working with Operation BBQ Relief to provide 72 hours of disaster relief support in the form of hot meals to those affected by natural disasters.
  • Providing multiple weekends of volunteer EMT support for a local ambulance company.
  • Helping homeless people.
  • Participating in community clean-ups.
  • Teaching students how to code.
  • Helping with youth sports.
  • Tutoring children.
  • Donating blood.
  • Donating clothing to children in need.
  • Supporting animal rescue efforts.

All in all, it was a month of hard work, good cheer, and teamwork. Tanium team members, with their usual creativity and dedication, made this sixth annual Month of Giving a rousing success.
