Tanium Announces Chris Pick As Chief Marketing Officer

EMERYVILLE, Calif., December 9, 2019Tanium, provider of the unified endpoint management and security platform proven in the world’s most technically demanding organizations, today announced the appointment of Chris Pick as Chief Marketing Officer, effective immediately. Pick will lead Tanium’s global marketing organization to drive predictable growth, build brand equity, and further strengthen customer relationships throughout the world.

Pick brings to Tanium more than 25 years of experience building new categories and executing differentiated go-to-market strategies. He joins Tanium following nine years as Chief Marketing Officer at Apptio, where, among many accomplishments, he led the creation of the Technology Business Management (TBM) software category now recognized throughout the industry. Pick also founded the global non-profit Technology Business Management Council, which drove industry collaboration, education and standardization (including changing United States law) for technology cost optimization and financial planning, and became a community of more than 10,000 CIOs influencing over $1T in worldwide technology spending.

As Chief Marketing Officer at Tanium, Pick oversees all aspects of global marketing, including product marketing, demand generation, sales development, field marketing and corporate communications.

Pick’s appointment joins a series of notable executive hires made by Tanium this year, including the recent appointment of Thomas Stanley as Chief Sales Officer. Tanium in 2019 also reached over 1,000 full-time team members and has been consistently recognized for its strong culture by publications such as FORTUNE, which ranked Tanium 10th on the list of “100 Best Medium Workplaces” for 2019.
