Mark Wayland, a veteran of Salesforce, is stepping into a newly created role at Tanium. As CRO, he oversees all revenue generation processes in the organization.
Bringing talented leaders to Tanium is one of the most important, and satisfying, elements of my job. We’ve made a number of announcements regarding our growing executive ranks, and I’m thrilled to welcome another exceptional hire, Salesforce veteran Mark Wayland, in the newly created role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).
Mark joins us at a pivotal time in our growth, as we continue expanding our executive leadership team with professionals who have the skills and experience to help our company scale. He’s devoted to seeing Tanium evolve into a world-recognized brand, with unbelievably engaged employees, that is committed to building great products that serve its customers.
Most recently, Mark served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales at Salesforce. During his ten years there, Salesforce’s annual revenue grew from $497 million to $8.4 billion.
With more than 20 years of technology sales and sales management experience in hardware, software, and professional services with companies including Gartner, Scient, and Nortel, Mark brings a sophisticated and nuanced approach to sales leadership.
Mark’s appointment is the latest in a series of notable executive hires we’ve made this year, including COO/CFO Fazal Merchant and CTO Chris Bream, as well as the appointments of new board members Anthony Belfiore and Maggie Wilderotter. Each brings a commitment to the mission and has not only the skill and experience to support our growth efforts, but will ensure we remain a place where our people are empowered to do the best work of their lives.
As CRO, Mark will work closely with our executive team and others across the organization to help transform Tanium’s vision into a long-term strategy for pioneering new markets and opportunities. He’s responsible for all revenue-generation processes and is tasked with driving better integration and alignment between functions, including marketing, sales, customer support, pricing, and revenue management.
Mark comes aboard July 10. Please join me in welcoming him to Tanium.
